External evaluation of stakeholder views to Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry´s midterm assessment of the national climate adaptation plan 2022

Tyrsky performed in collaboration with Akordi Ltd. an external evaluation of stakeholder views to Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry´s midterm assessment of the national climate change adaptation plan 2022. The stakeholder views about climate change adaptation and its progress used in the evaluation were gathered by national survey and regional stakeholder workshops, and viewpoints of multiple different sectors were included.

The evaluation report about stakeholder views was published as an attachment/annex to the midterm assessment. The results of the stakeholder view assessment were also used in the midterm assessment.

The results of the evaluation originated five recommendations that can be used to develop adaptation further:

1. The impacts and adaptation of climate change should be considered from the viewpoints of different sectors and regions
2. The sectors in which the current situation is worse than others should be paid attention to when informing
3. The information should be packed and presented in understandable form
4. Regional and sector-specific tools are needed, such as adaptation plans or panels
5. There is need for dialogue between sectors and regions in national forums

The results of the evaluation of stakeholder views are being used in the natianal coordination work on climate change adaptation. Moreover, the workshops and survey activated stakeholders and regional actors to think about adaptation and how adaptation work could be developed.
