Webinar
Status update: Best practices for the voluntary carbon market
Date and Time: 16.11.2023, 14.00–15.30 CET
Via Zoom
This webinar kicks off a series of capacity building events to help Nordic stakeholders understand and implement best practices in the voluntary carbon market.
The webinar provides a status update on best practices for the voluntary carbon market, covering recent developments in promoting the integrity of carbon credits, their use and related claims. The interplay between the voluntary carbon market and Paris Agreement will also be considered.
These Nordic capacity building events draw on the results and recommendations of the Nordic Dialogue on Voluntary Compensation, and they are organised by the Dialogue team. The Dialogue developed a Nordic perspective on best practices for voluntary carbon markets and recommended further Nordic cooperation, including capacity building.

About the Nordic project on building capacity for the voluntary carbon market
This project aims to promote best practices for the voluntary carbon market through a series of Nordic capacity building events. These events are designed to help Nordic stakeholders understand and implement best practices for voluntary carbon markets, in line with the results and recommendations of the Nordic Dialogue on Voluntary Compensation. They will inform Nordic stakeholders about the latest international and national developments in the field, and provide an interactive platform to discuss their implementation. While most of these events are tailored for Nordic stakeholders, their insights are relevant across the world and will be shared with international peers.
This project supports the implementation of the results and recommendations of the Nordic Dialogue on Voluntary Compensation. The Dialogue and these related capacity building events are funded by the Nordic Working Groups for Climate and Air and for Environment and Economy and facilitated by Perspectives Climate Research in partnership with IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, Carbon Limits, and Tyrsky Consulting.
