Pirkko Kasanen

Pirkko started as CEO when Tyrsky was founded in 2014 and held this position until 2021. Based on her education and work experience, Pirkko understands both the research and business worlds. She has a Ph.D. degree in economic geography from Boston University, where she focused on energy and environmental issues, which remained her strongest areas of expertise during her career of over 40 years.

Having retired from her work as CEO and expert she writes and supports her retiring peers in managing this life change. Her book Valmistaudu vapauteen. Aloittelevan eläkeläisen työkirja (Otava) was published in 2021.
