Survey on Climate Work of Companies in Ylivieska

The goal of the project was to survey the attitude of companies in Ylivieska towards climate change, the current status of their climate work, and we mapped out the companies’ wishes and needs regarding the city’s climate work. Additionally, we provided companies with information about the city’s climate work and the “Adaptation to the Impacts of Climate Change” (SOPIVA) project, which aims to support the work of actors in Ylivieska in preparing for the impacts of climate change.

We surveyed the status and views of companies’ climate work through an online questionnaire, the results of which we supplemented with interviews. The questionnaire surveyed companies’ knowledge and attitudes regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation, companies’ climate actions, and their needs and expectations towards the City of Ylivieska.

Based on the analysis of the results from the questionnaire and interviews, we constructed recommendations for measures to support the climate work of companies in the City of Ylivieska and to engage the business sector.
