Tyrsky, as the only service provider, conducted a study on Finland’s strategic position in the Global Climate Action Agenda – the umbrella bringing together governments, companies and other organisations to take concrete climate action. The study included analysing how the country is preparing for the Paris Agreement implementation and proposing ways on how Finland could support international climate initiatives, which lie outside of the formal intergovernmental negotiations. Tyrsky proposed a framework to evaluate initiatives and retreat from poorly performing ones, and presented a roadmap with concrete steps on how to better support the Global Agenda, raise the political profile of climate initiatives and recruit new actors. The result was an improved understanding on how to strengthen Finland’s role and where to invest more resources.
